Sea Grant Aquaculture Investments

Sea Grant is working to keep aquaculture thriving by:

  • Funding targeted research and development for issues that challenge sustainable aquaculture
  • Offering training and technical assistance to improve business profits and production efficiency
  • Educating consumers about safe, sustainable seafood choices.

Sea Grant provides funds to support aquaculture research and development though the National Sea Grant Aquaculture Competition, which typically is a biennial competition to fund aquaculture research and technology transfer. At the state level, individual state Sea Grant Programs hold their own competitions and may include aquaculture in their priorities.
