Vertical Land Movement Estimates

Washington Sea Grant

Washington Sea Grant is leading an effort to improve estimates of vertical land movement in Washington State that will be used to improve sea level rise and coastal flooding assessments.  Vertical land movement is highly variable in this tectonically active state, which leads to complexities in regards to applying global or regional sea level rise assessments at the community scale.  This is an applied research project in partnership with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
