Located at the NWC on the UA campus in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Bareford will work with community stakeholders and partners to understand what information they need to make the best decisions possible.

Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant worked with federal and local partners to place markers throughout Mississippi coastal communities, reminding residents of high water levels from past storms. 

An outreach program in the Gulf of Mexico has Sea Grant programs working together to help community leaders, resource, managers and others understand the effects of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and ways to mitigate future oil spills. 

Commercial fishing can be a dangerous job. Thanks to Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant Consortium Extension agents, 200 sailors have been trained as marine safety instructors. The training recently helped save two fishermen in a collision. 

In the spirit of the collaborative nature of NOAA's Sentinal Site Program, Sea Grant provides coordinators to foster relationships among the various partners studying sea level rise and addressing community resilience.
