Abiola Obafemi
Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act Programs Coordinator & Knauss Marine Policy Fellow

Abiola is the BIL/IRA Programs Coordinator at the National Sea Grant Office for the 2024 John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellow.
Abiola is a second-year Master’s student in the Coastal Sciences program, at the University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Research Laboratory. His Current research focuses on the impacts of hypoxia caused by freshwater diversion on oysters in the Mississippi Sound, Gulf of Mexico.Â
Before Graduate school, Abiola had experience in aquaculture, fisheries, fish pond management, and hatchery management – he has also investigated the operational use of artisanal fishing gear in Lagos lagoon, Gulf of Guinea.Â
Abiola enjoys playing and watching soccer in his free time; he also enjoys music and is always eager to learn new things.Â
