Our Team

Alison Krepp

Social Science and Economics Lead
Alison Krepp is the social science and economics lead for the National Sea Grant Office. In this role she works to build partnerships and expand opportunities to support and integrate research in the social, behavioral, and economic sciences across Sea Grant’s focus areas. Additionally, she serves as a regional federal program officer to Sea Grant programs in the northeast.

Growing up her favorite children’s book was Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney. In it, the main character is charged with doing something to make the world more beautiful. She likes to think of her work as opening doors for those opportunities to occur across the coastal landscapes and communities she loves.

Alison is a sociologist. She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Policy and Behavior from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management from the University of Maine. She is a proud UMaine Black Bear and former member of the women’s ice hockey team.

In her spare time, Alison loves going on new outdoor adventures with her two-legged and four-legged family members.
