Elizabeth Diamond, MS

Program Analyst
Elizabeth Diamond is a contracted Program Analyst for the National Sea Grant College Program. Since 2017 she has provided support services for grants management, grants competitions, communication with principal investigators and fellows, database updates, and many more day-to-day operations too numerous to list here.

Elizabeth holds a masters in Oceanography from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Her thesis examined how the protozoan parasite Perkinsus marinus (also known as Dermo disease) is spread by oyster predators and scavengers in a laboratory setting. Prior to joining Sea Grant, she was a curatorial assistant for the Smithsonian Natural History Museum (NMNH) Invertebrate Zoology division, where she photographed past collections of freshwater snails for archival.

A lifelong Silver Spring, MD resident, Elizabeth hopes to one day move closer to the Eastern Shore and return to the oceans and coastlines that are such a cherished part of her childhood memories. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, reading a large collection of books both fictional and scientific, writing classic film-inspired fiction, and watching her (probably obsolete, but treasured) DVD archive of old films.
