Our Team

Hallee Meltzer, MS

Communications Coordinator
Hallee Meltzer is the Communications Coordinator for the National Sea Grant College Program. She oversees the release of all announcements by the National Sea Grant Office and coordinates communications among the 34 Sea Grant programs. She also manages the National Sea Grant Office’s website and social media channels.

A skilled writer, designer, photographer, and editor, Hallee produces and manages a variety of communications products for the National Sea Grant Office, including the Sea Grant Monthly newsletter, the Knauss Blog, and digital factsheets. She has expanded Sea Grant’s interactive communications products through ArcGIS StoryMaps, Adobe Spark, and more. Hallee brings a strong science background to communicating about the breadth of topics and locales that Sea Grant works in, though an area of particular interest for her is coastal resilience and adaptation.

Hallee holds a master’s degree in Environmental Science from Florida Atlantic University and a bachelor’s degree in Ecosystem Science and Policy, with minors in Communication and Chemistry, from the University of Miami. As a researcher, she has explored topics related to environmental management and community influences and impacts, including as a NOAA Hollings Scholar with the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve and an intern with NOAA’s Atlantic Oceanographic Meteorological Laboratory.

When she’s not working on making science more accessible to the public, Hallee can be found in her kitchen trying out new recipes and spoiling her pup, Maple.
