The Sea Grant network, with support from the National Sea Grant Office, will lead a special issue of Oceanography, a quarterly journal of The Oceanography Society. The special issue is planned to be released in Spring 2024.
The goals of this special issue are to highlight Sea Grant’s role in building healthy, resilient, and sustainable coastal and Great Lakes environments and economies, call attention to Sea Grant’s success in workforce and economic development, offer strategies for translating research into applications, summarize ways in which researchers can build meaningful partnerships with communities, and highlight the integration of traditional and local knowledge and/or diversity, equity, inclusion, justice and accessibility into scientific research, education, outreach and collaboration.
Sea Grant’s feature in Volume 37 of Oceanography is led by guest editors Mike Allen, Mona Behl, Rebecca Briggs, Kristen Fussell, Brita Jessen, Sarah Kolesar, Ian Miller and Stephanie Otts, with contributions from staff throughout the Sea Grant network.
